Co-Occurring Mental Health Treatment Programs in Washington
When you or a loved one begins treatment at Discover Recovery, we’ll create a personalized plan through our co-occurring treatment program, which includes dedicated mental health services. These programs are designed to treat both substance use and mental health conditions together, offering clients comprehensive, connected care.
We provide co-occurring mental health treatment for conditions including, but not limited to:
Anxiety
Anxiety disorders involve persistent, excessive worry or fear that interferes with daily life. We address anxiety within our co-occurring treatment programs, helping clients manage symptoms while also working through substance use challenges.
Depression
Depression is more than feeling sad—it can affect mood, energy, sleep, and self-worth. Through our integrated dual diagnosis care, we offer evidence-based therapies that support emotional healing alongside substance use treatment.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder causes intense mood shifts between emotional highs and lows, making daily life unpredictable and overwhelming. Our co-occurring treatment approach helps stabilize mood while addressing the unique relationship between bipolar symptoms and addiction.
PTSD
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, leading to flashbacks, avoidance, and heightened anxiety. We use trauma-informed care within our dual diagnosis programs to help clients process trauma safely while building skills for recovery.
Personality Disorders
Personality disorders involve enduring patterns of thoughts and behaviors that can disrupt relationships, emotional regulation, and daily functioning. Our dual diagnosis treatment helps clients understand and manage these patterns while addressing substance use and improving quality of life.
What to Expect During Mental Health Treatment at Discover Recovery
Treatment starts with a psychiatric evaluation. While evaluations can be intimidating, they help our team of professionals identify any underlying mental health conditions—even those that may not be diagnosed when you or a loved one comes in for treatment. The results will inform a personalized treatment plan, determine the right level of care, and help us suggest the right treatment center.
Medication Management
Medication can be a safe, effective part of mental health treatment. If you or your loved one could benefit from mental health medications, the Discover Recovery team can prescribe, adjust, and manage any prescriptions. Additionally, some clients in dual diagnosis treatment can benefit from medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for their substance use disorder.
Evidence-Based Therapy
Several talk and behavioral therapies have been proven effective in treating addiction and mental health conditions. We’ll create a personalized therapy plan for you or your loved one to help build a long-term recovery foundation. Some of the evidence-based therapies we use at Discover Recovery include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and person-centered therapy.
Holistic and Experiential Opportunities
We want to help you or your loved one reconnect with health, peace, and purpose in recovery. Clients in many of our programs have the opportunity to engage with horses in equine therapy, create and express in non-verbal ways with art, let go with sound bath and spa treatments, and learn new skills in pottery classes.
Discover a New Way Forward
Our team of professionals can help you or your loved one discover strength and find a new path. Call 360.472.4711 or contact us online now to get started.
