Substances we treat

We provide personalized treatment for a wide range of substance use disorders. Each substance impacts people differently, and our clinical team develops integrated care plans to meet your specific needs, whether you’re in residential detox, outpatient therapy, or long-term recovery planning.

Alcohol

Alcohol is among the most commonly misused substance in the U.S. We offer detox, therapy, and medical support to address physical dependence and the emotional toll of alcohol use.

Opioids

Addiction to opioids, including heroin, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and fentanyl, can develop quickly and lead to serious health risks. Our programs include medical detox, medication-assisted treatment, and therapy to manage cravings and prevent relapse.

Benzodiazepines

Anti-anxiety medications such as such as Xanax, Ativan, and Valium can be physically and psychologically addictive. We provide medically supervised tapering and therapeutic support to address dependency safely.

Cocaine

Cocaine use can lead to severe mood and behavioral changes. Our dual diagnosis approach addresses both the physical effects and the emotional triggers behind stimulant use.

Methamphetamine

Meth can have lasting effects on mental health and cognition. We focus on stabilizing brain function, rebuilding routines, and helping clients reconnect with themselves and others.

Marijuana

While often viewed as low-risk, marijuana can be habit-forming and impact motivation and mood. We help clients address psychological dependency and underlying mental health issues.

Prescription stimulants

Misuse of ADHD medications, including Adderall and Ritalin, can disrupt sleep, mood, and behavior. Our programs help clients understand the roots of stimulant misuse and build healthier coping mechanisms.

Healing starts here

How our substance abuse treatment programs work

When you or your loved one starts substance abuse treatment in Washington or Oregon at Discover Recovery, our team will complete an in-depth evaluation. It will go over substance use, mental health, medical history, symptoms, and current circumstances to create an effective treatment plan. Then, we’ll help find the right level of care:

Stopping active use of opioids, alcohol, benzos, and some other substances can be dangerous without support. We offer medical and residential detox options that provide medical monitoring and appropriate medication-assisted treatment to manage withdrawal symptoms and stabilize you or a loved one.

We offer 30- to 90-day programs that include talk and experiential therapy, medication management, dual diagnosis support, a stay in plush private/semi-private rooms, and amenities like chef-prepared meals and fitness classes.

Intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) provide daily support and treatment without the need to stay overnight in a treatment center. You or your loved one will attend treatment and work with our team during the day before returning home or to sober living at night.

If needed, you or your loved one can also consider our sober living program. Sober living is a good opportunity for those who need a safe, stable place to live during treatment and the early stages of recovery. We also provide aftercare services that connect our clients with important community resources and valuable support that can help them stay sober.

Recovery isn’t just about getting sober. It’s about staying supported long after treatment ends. We create personalized aftercare plans for every person. Whether you’re stepping down from residential care or completing outpatient treatment, our team will help you plan for what’s next with continued guidance, structure, and connection.

Our work doesn’t stop at discharge. We help you connect with trusted community providers for therapy, housing, medical care, and recovery support. These local partnerships give you or your loved one the tools to stay grounded and stable long after leaving our program.

The relationships you build in treatment don’t disappear. Our alumni program offers ongoing support through events, peer connections, and regular follow-up. It’s a way to stay connected to your progress, your people, and your purpose.

Evidence-based therapies that support real change

We use trusted, clinically proven approaches to help you heal from addiction and co-occurring mental health conditions. Treatment plans may include:

These therapies are delivered by licensed professionals and tailored to each person’s needs, providing both structure and support at every stage of recovery.

Compassion over routine: personalized addiction treatment that works

We believe connection is the foundation of healing. Clinical expertise matters, but so does warmth, presence, and the ability to listen. We maintain a highly attentive staff-to-client ratio across all our locations. Every person receives truly individualized care from professionals who take the time to understand their full story.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all programming or cold, institutional routines. Instead, you’ll engage in therapy, healing practices, and structured activities designed to restore confidence and community.

To prepare for sober life outside of treatment, our programs include holistic and experiential therapies like:

When clients feel safe, seen, and empowered to participate in life again, recovery becomes more than possible. It becomes sustainable.

More than a program: a path to real recovery

Addiction affects the whole person, which means effective treatment must go far beyond detox or group therapy. Every program at Discover Recovery is built around a full spectrum of support, including:
