
Kara Barnes, LICSWA, MAC, SUDP, DVP
Kara has been working in the drug and alcohol addictions field for the past 10 years. She started her career in the recovery field as a residential technician, went to admissions and then got her SUD license. Kara has an associates in sociology, a bachelors in drug and alcohol addictions studies from EWU and after becoming an SUD counselor she wanted to do more for her clients and went on to get a masters in social work at PSU, and is currently working with an LICSWA license for mental health. Kara has worked multiple levels of treatment from residential to outpatient. She also has her DVP (qualification to work with domestic violence perpetrators in WA state), and has qualified as a master addictions counselor. Kara has worked as the clinical supervisor for Discover Recovery for almost two years. She has a passion for helping those with addiction issues. Kara is dedicated to helping people not only stop using substances but change their lives in meaningful ways to create a life that they no longer want to drink and use.
