Jessica Johnson, LICSWA, SUDPP

As a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) and Substance Use Disorder Provider (SUDP), I am dedicated to helping individuals uncover the connections between their behaviors, thought patterns, and substance use. With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those in recovery, I work closely with participants to explore how their behaviors have led them to residential treatment, and together, we identify triggers and high-risk patterns that perpetuate substance use.

Through this process, I help participants develop a comprehensive understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and actions while equipping them with practical coping strategies to challenge irrational beliefs and interrupt the cycle of distorted thinking. By connecting the dots between their thought patterns and substance use, participants often discover a sense of empowerment, realizing the significant role they play in controlling their thinking and shaping their recovery journey.

Incorporating the principles of Positive Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing I focus on helping participants identify their inherent strengths and qualities. This approach encourages them to recognize and build upon their existing resilience, fostering self-confidence and motivation throughout their recovery process. My group sessions are engaging, laid-back, and designed to relate to each participant's unique experience. I aim to create an environment where participants can learn new skills, apply fresh perspectives to current challenges, and ultimately develop the tools they need to maintain a strong, ongoing commitment to their recovery.

Through the work I do, my goal is to inspire participants to believe in their ability to overcome obstacles and stay committed to their growth and healing, one step at a time.
