Our Programs

Recovery is more than just putting an end to alcohol or drug use. It’s a journey by which to undo the damage of habitual substance abuse, thereby restoring the body, mind, and soul to a state of lasting health.

While abstinence is certainly part of the recovery process, Discover Recovery Treatment Center provides holistic treatment programs to help our clients overcome their addictions. This model of care is focused on healing all aspects of self, including the mind, body, and spirit.

Levels of Care

We offer three levels of care and four separate programs at Discover Recovery Treatment Center.

Each of our holistic substance abuse treatment programs is designed to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Once enrolled in one of our levels of care, we aim to support our clients through their healing journeys. This includes working with clients to ensure they have the tools needed to sustain their newfound sobriety for weeks, months, and years.

Currently, the programs we offer include our Medical Detox Program, Residential Program, Young Adult Program, and Aftercare Program.

Medical Detox Program

For the majority of our clients, the journey of recovery begins with detoxification treatment. Our Medical Detox Program is designed to help stabilize patients by resolving their physical and physiological dependence on alcohol or drugs.

Residential Program

Our Residential Program is an inpatient-style form of care. It’s also when most of the healing and recovery happen. Between daily therapy and structured activities, our clients gain the tools, knowledge, and experience they need to maintain their sobriety.

Young Adult Program

Our Young Adult Program has much of what makes our Residential Program so effective, combined with an awareness of the particular needs and preferences that young adults may have when it comes to substance abuse treatment.

Aftercare Program

The recovery process doesn’t end when our residential care is over. Before our patients become alumni, we work with them as part of our Aftercare Program to develop individualized plans for continued support and treatment, reinforcing their sobriety as they return home to resume their lives.

Which holistic program is the best choice for you?

The ASAM Continuum, also commonly referred to as the “Levels of Care,” is a way of classifying substance abuse treatment programs by intensity. So if you take a look at the image, you’ll notice that Medically Managed Intensive Inpatient Services (e.g. detoxification treatment) bookend the righthand side of the continuum, denoting the highest intensity.

For comparison, Outpatient Services are at the lefthand side of the spectrum, indicating less intensive care. In fact, the only level of care that’s considered less intensive than outpatient care is Early Intervention.

However, our Medical Detox Program is equipped to help mitigate alcoholic withdrawal symptoms or delirium tremens.

With the help of our trained, experienced nursing staff, clients can begin the healing process in comfort and complete safety.

During the alcohol detoxification process, our nursing staff will help manage a wide variety of symptoms, including headaches, anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, restlessness, loss of appetite, and depression.

What types of treatment does Discover Recovery offer?

There are a number of treatment modalities and forms of care that comprise high-quality, comprehensive treatment programs such as those we offer at Discover Recovery. Further, a number of treatment methods are utilized in multiple levels of care, making them prominent therapeutic techniques in many of our holistic programs.

Discover Recovery relies on treatment methods rooted in scientific research and evidence. This means that these forms of treatment are rooted in thorough testing and research, and have been found to be consistently effective in the treatment of addiction. By relying on these treatments, we can ensure that our programs deliver optimal results to our clients.

Process Group

Often a staple of holistic recovery, Process Groups are groups-based sessions that consist of ten or more clients led by one or more group leaders. The focus is on creating a safe space for open, honest communication in which participants can share their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and even their optimism for their recoveries.

Family Counseling

Addiction is commonly referred to as “the family disease” because of the profound ways in which chronic substance abuse affects the family unit. We use Family Counseling to help our clients and their families heal the wounds inflicted on their familial relationships by long-term alcoholism or drug addiction.

Psychoeducational Groups

Psychoeducational Groups are another type of group-based session, consisting of ten or more clients led by one or more group leaders. However, with Psychoeducational Groups, the focus is on learning more about the psychology of addiction and recovery. These sessions often impart valuable life skills and recovery strategies to facilitate long-term sobriety.

Experiential Therapies

Part of a broad family of therapeutic techniques, Experiential Therapies take both clients and therapists outside of the traditional office setting, providing a variety of hands-on activities that often have emotional and/or symbolic significance. Some of the more common Experiential Therapies include Art Therapy, Music Therapy, and Equine Therapy.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Arguably the most important fundamental treatment for addiction, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), is rooted in behavior modification. The purpose of CBT in addiction treatment is to help identify and address problematic thoughts, emotions, attitudes, and behaviors that directly contribute to one’s addiction.

Healthy Lifestyles Training

Many people in active addiction don’t practice routine self-care, so we provide Healthy Lifestyles Training to ensure optimal health as they progress in recovery. This includes learning (or re-learning) about diet and nutrition, stress management, and the importance of exercise.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is commonly used as a psychotherapeutic treatment for someone who exhibits chronic maladaptive or self-destructive behavior. The key tenets of DBT are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Twelve-Step Programs

There’s a reason why Twelve-Step Programs like Alcoholics Anonymous have been around for almost a century. They have worked (and continue to work) for a lot of people. So our clients can choose whether to participate in Twelve-Step Recovery themselves, from the “fearless moral inventory” to sharing the message of the Twelve Steps with others in need.
